596 Cole Road is NOT your typical new build.
While technically built in 1960, almost everything above the slab has been replaced. The renovation team even added a second floor. Mind blown.
The reno team has given us a wide covered porch on the front of the house and decided not to enclose the two-car carport so that larger SUV’s and trucks won’t have any difficulty parking.
Despite it’s recent renovation, the home is painted with an uncommon gray and beige pairing. The quirky combo is emphasized by mixed color lighting from square downlights juxtaposed with circular lighting fixtures. It’s not for everyone, but it’s nice to see something novel.
The space-saving kitchen is designed to allow more space in the living room, while still maintaining its functionality.
The primary bedroom is a practical size and does come with a compact but updated bathroom. I do appreciate that the shower tile goes all the way to the ceiling.
The primary closet fits a lot in a compact footprint. Four hanging compartments, open storage, drawers, and unique angled storage racks that ensure shoes rest against the wall instead of hanging over the shelf’s edge.
The two guest bedrooms are serviceable and do come with quite a bit of storage.
Upstairs, there are not one, but two flex spaces: one of which houses a closet and could be used as a bedroom. The dormers are something you simply don’t see in new construction and make the space feel a little more established, plus they’re a great place to tuck a chest in order to pick up a little extra storage.
As an added bonus, there’s a small building with a roll up door in the backyard.
As a final note, it’s nice to see that the reno team left the trees instead of leveling the lot. It makes the property feel like it has a history. Plus, the trees provide much welcome shade.
