51 Cosmos
Mineral Creek Landing Subdivision, Rawls Springs
It’s location is practical. It’s design is practical. This house is practical.
This 3/2 has a lot going for it. It’s driveway and front porch are nicely landscaped. The front porch won’t seat the whole family, but it is large enough for a small bench or coffee table.
Inside, we’ve got a deep forest green door, dark vinyl plank floors, and roman blinds (if they aren’t bamboo, they’re something similar).
There’s a neat customization along the entry wall where the owners have made a space saving drop zone for hanging jackets and bags. It doesn’t take much imagination to see the usefulness of this modification.
This is the classic open floor plan. One room to rule them all. Living room, dining, and kitchen are all together in a single room.
The kitchen seats two at the bar, and has the classic granite counters and stainless appliances.
The amount of storage in the kitchen isn’t overwhelming, but it should be sufficient for most people. The storage in the island does help too, especially since there’s a mix of drawers and cabinets.
Also on the list of nice to have features, is the over-sized stainless single-basin sink.
The primary is down a short hall that connects between the kitchen and living room. From the living room, you’ll pass the 2 car garage. Reminder that the garage door is painted a deep earthy brown. (see top photo) There’s a second, proper drop zone in the hallway, along with a proper laundry room.
The primary won’t blow anyone’s mind, but it remains a functional size and still keeps tray ceilings which help make it feel a little larger. Note that the window treatments stay uniform through the house.
The primary bathroom has a single counter. Although, they’ve managed to fit two sinks into it so you don’t slow your partner down in the morning.
The faucets are a neat addition, allowing a little more vertical space to wash hands or fill containers.
The drop in fiberglass shower isn’t anything fancy, but it will age well and be easy to clean.
Here’s the star of the primary suite. The closet manages a significant amount of hanging space, along with a variety of shelving heights and cubbies. A drawer or other concealed storage would be welcome, but I don’t expect that would be too difficult a modification.
The two guest bedrooms are on the opposite side of the living room. There’s carpet in both, but one sees the return of the dark, forest green paint in the form of an accent wall.
The backyard is another place that 51 Cosmos shines. The yard is fully-fenced, comparatively flat, unobstructed, and contains both a covered patio, additional uncovered patio space, and a fire pit.
The Mineral Creek Landing Subdivision also has access to a small pond. This property is just across the street from the water. You’ll frequently spy geese and other large birds along with the occasional deer.
Around the pond, there are several larger trees that offer good shade that would make for a pleasant place to throw down a blanket for a picnic or read a book on cooler spring or fall days.
All in all, 51 Cosmos is a thoughtful property with easy access to Hwy49, I59, and US98 via Jackson Rd.
